Application of the components of weather, climate, soil, topography and potential pest problems to the selection of sites suitable for growing grapes. Principles and practices used for the establishment of a successful vineyard. Topics will include vineyard economics, weather and climate analysis, soil properties, site analysis for potential pest problems, site preparation, varietal selection, new vineyard establishment and maintenance.
